Mississippi recreational Red Snapper season closing
BILOXI, Miss. – The Mississippi state recreational fishing season for Red Snapper (Lutjanus campechanus) closed in Mississippi territorial waters as of 11:59 p.m., local time, on Sunday, September 27, 2026, and shall remain closed for the remainder of the year.
As a reminder, no Red Snapper shall be landed or possessed in Mississippi state waters when the Mississippi season is closed. The Tails n’ Scales mandatory reporting program has indicated landings of approximately 98% of the 2026 Mississippi private recreational ACL.
